Say hello to CREW Pittsburgh member Mimi Fersch, First American Title Insurance Company.

February 21, 2022
What committee are you serving on and why did you join?
I served as Sponsorship Director for 4 years before becoming President-Elect, then President (2018). I have also served on the Sponsorship Committee and hope to see the success of our mission continue to grow.

How do you share information you learn with other CREW members and/or your co-workers?
These days social media is the only way to go! I’ve really enjoyed the creative ways that we are all learning to connect.

What role do you play in the commercial real estate industry?
I am in the title insurance business – have been for too many years to say out loud.

How did you get started in your current position?
I started as a temp in a Pittsburgh law firm in 1986 and sat next to a gal that was working for their real estate department.  I offered to help (not evening knowing what a deed was) and the next thing you know, I was hired full time as a closing coordinator.  The rest is history.

What are your interests and/or hobbies outside of work?
Anything outside!  I mainly enjoying walking and golf.

What personal values have shaped your career?
Trust, honesty and sincerity.  I’ve been able to advance in my career by holding on to these values.

Where have you travelled?  Where do you wish to travel?
I’m not much of a traveler – I have no real desire to leave the country (especially now)! I found my happy place in Hilton Head and purchased a condo there in 2016.  That is where I will retire . . . .
