What role do you play in the commercial real estate industry?
I help navigate the complex natural resource/environmental regulations for the industry.
How did you get started in your current position?
I always loved the outdoors and knew I wanted to work in the environmental field growing up. I found a passion to help promote responsible development through environmental consulting.
What are your interests and/or hobbies outside of work?
I have a 2-yo daughter who takes up most of my time. I love horses and help run a horse-farm. I also love hiking with my dog, Izzy, camping, and skiing in the winter.
Where is your favorite place to go out in Pittsburgh (Strip District, zoo, cultural district, etc.)? Definitely the zoo! I also like the North Shore a lot.
What did you learn from your biggest failure?
I learned try to be humble and uplifting to everyone that I meet.
What personal values have shaped your career?
Learning how to be positive and uplifting for my co-workers and clients has had the most impact on my career.
What are you hoping to achieve with your CREW membership?
To empower and grow with more professionals
What is the best professional and/or personal advice you have received and/or given?
Treat everyone with the same level of respect whether they are administrative support or the CEO.
How do you achieve balance between work and home life?
Sometimes the scale is in favor of work life and sometimes it’s home but managing others’ expectations and boundary setting is critical. I try to make it clear when I’m available and how to reach me when I’m not in the office.

I’m a blood cancer survivor!
Who inspires you and why?
Rachel Carson – because she was from Pittsburgh and one of the first female scientists.
Where have you traveled? Where do you wish to travel?
I’ve gone many places skiing such as Colorado, California, New England and West Virginia and to many of the states on the east coast. I also went to Hawaii for 2 weeks this year. I haven’t been out of the US too much but would like to go to Australia, New Zealand, and maybe Scotland.

Chestnut Quarterhorse – Pai Box
Border Collie – Izzy
2 Cats – Koda and Cleo
