What role do you play in the commercial real estate industry?
As a Business Development & Marketing Manager, I’m responsible for cultivating new relationships for our architecture & interior design firm and nurturing those we have with clients and our partner consultants. I meet with influencers and professionals in the CRE and A/E/C industry to exchange ideas and discuss project opportunities. Part of my role is also to assist with proposal writing and generation of submittals for RFPs, and I use marketing and social media to share our firm’s experiences and areas of focus.
Where is your favorite place to go out in Pittsburgh (Strip District, zoo, cultural district, etc.)?
When I’m not in the North Pittsburgh area, or at the office in Gateway Center, I enjoy venturing over to Shadyside (where I used to live), the Strip District for fun, or Lawrenceville for cool new cafes and entertainment. I grew up in Pittsburgh and I’m still exploring and uncovering new areas.
What personal values have shaped your career?
Helping others achieve their goals is extremely rewarding to me and I have also benefitted greatly by starting up conversations with many new contacts over the years. Commonalities and similar experiences can lead to deeper discussions, partnering on projects, and discovering appealing opportunities. I value integrity, ambition and a positive attitude which can all help to grow your experience and career.
Tell us something people may find surprising about you.
I’ve met several interesting people while traveling, including Ina Garten (Barefoot Contessa) in NYC, Chef Gordon Ramsay and his son at the Starbucks in Santa Monica, Jane Seymour and Patty Hearst at an art show in NYC, and Sebastian Maniscalco in Atlantic City for a photo after his show…we share a birthday!
